Operating Principle: Vibration is induced by the rotation of a chrome-plated steel ball being driven by compressed air (or another inert gas) around a set of hardened steel races within the Vibrator's aluminum or malleable iron cylindrical body. The Speed or Frequency, measured as Vibration-Per-Minute (VPM), is equal to the number of revolutions the ball makes (RPM). The VPM is adjustable using an air regulator to adjust inlet PSI. The smaller the ball, the higher the VPM at the same PSI air pressure. Higher PSI causes higher VPM. The Centrifugal Force Pounds (lbf) developed is based on ball weight and the RPM at which it circles the raceway. A larger ball (larger rotating unbalance) or an increase in RPM results in an exponential increase of the centrifugal force produced.

Sizing Guide: Ball Vibrators, when used to prompt material flow, are sized based on the weight and characteristics of the material in the sloped portion of the bin, hopper or other vessel. Generally, for consistent, long term results, select a Ball Vibrator that at 80 PSI (can be run @ 30 to 100 PSI) produces 1-lbf for every 10-lbs of stored material.
