The CCC® Model MSD Tachometer Motion Control is both a motion sensing control and a tachometer. This unit consists of two parts, a controller / display module and a sensor. The sensor is directly coupled to rotating shaft and produces a signal for the controller to read. The display has a maximum read of 9999 RPM, and displays to the nearest whole RPM value. It commonly proides a means of monitoring the speed on overhead safety chain conveyors and automatically actuates the relay output to engage a braking system or other field connected device. The Model MSD is also commonly used to grain elevator legs to determine if a bucket elevator is being overloaded, resulting in a reduction of RPM.
