Butterfly Valves that Seal Tighter and Last Longer

Butterfly Valves w/ Inflatable Seats: Superior Flow Control; Less Money When it comes to isolating valves that control / regulate flow of powders, bulk solids, slurries, and gases not all butterfly valves are created equal. Unlike conventional butterfly valves where the disc seals with friction, the POSI-FLATE® Butterfly Valve's unique design uses as little as 100 PSI air pressure to expand the Valve's inflatable seat to completely surround the disc, providing a balanced pressure-distribution for a bubble tight seal - every time. Because the seat in a POSI-FLATE Valve makes only incidental contact with the disc when the valve is opened or closed, there is no disc-to-seat impingement. Compare this to conventional butterfly valves where the disc severely impinges on the seat during every open/close mechanical cycle causing the disc to shave the seat which not only decreases valve performance but also significantly shortens valve life. Finally, since the POSI-FLATE Valve uses unique inflatable seat technology rather than mechanical turning action, it requires substantially less torque to open or close the valve, and therefore requires a much smaller Actuator which lowers both initial purchase price and on-going operating costs. POSI-FLATE offers both cast iron valves and stainless steel valves for both standard (-40º to 350ºF) and high temperature (-40º to 650ºF) applications that are ANSI and Metric Flange compatible.BUTTERFLY VALVES W/ INFLATABLE SEATS: LONGER LIFESPAN; LESS MAINTENANCEPOSI-FLATE has an extensive capability to actuate, record and monitor the function, wear, and other parameters for valve tests. Also critical is the ability to run tests from full vacuum to 100 PSIG with the wide range of bulk materials and slurries that POSI-FLATE Butterfly Valves regularly encounter in the field - including extremely abrasive solids. Finally, the ability to run accelerated wear tests for corrosion, abrasion and fatigue ensures that POSI-FLATE Butterfly Valves will operate trouble-free for years in even the most challenging field conditions.
- No disc impingement which means longer valve life
- Ultra-low torque requirements to open/close which means a smaller and lower cost Actuator
- More seal contact which means better suited for control of dry solids, including abrasive materials, slurries, gases and liquids
- Integral disc and shaft/stem with contoured polished surface which means minimum resistance to flow and reduced material build-up
- Two-piece housing which means that when maintenance is required disassembly is easy and fast
