Operating Principle: Vibration is induced by the independent rotation of two separate offset weight rollers which are concentrically mounted one inside of the other (roller inside a roller design). The smaller (inner) of the two rollers is driven by a vane type motor. The vane, driven by compressed air or another inert gas, causes the roller to revolve around a raceway within the malleable iron cylindrical body. The rotation of the inner roller causes the larger (outer) roller to rotate multiple times as it revolves around the vibrator's body. The Speed or Frequency, measured as vibration-per-minute (VPM), of the inner roller is > 40% faster than the Speed/VPM of the outer roller. The combination of the VPM of the inner and outer roller produces significantly higher VPM when compared to single roller vibrators. The smaller the rollers, the higher the VPM at the same PSI air pressure. The number of revolutions (RPM) of the rollers is adjustable using an air regulator to adjust PSI. Higher PSI causes higher RPM. The Centrifugal Force Pounds (lbf) developed is increased based on the weight of the two rollers and the number of revolutions which results in an exponential increase of the centrifugal force produced. Dual Roller Vibrators can produce up to 14,600 VPM and up to 14,250 lbf. HD Single Roller Vibrators can product up to 10,000 VPM and up to 9,600 lbf.
Sizing Guide: Roller Vibrators, when used to prompt material flow, are sized based on the weight and characteristics of the material in the sloped portion of the bin, hopper or other vessel. Generally, for consistent, long term results, select a Roller Vibrator that at 80 PSI (can be run @ 30 to 90 PSI) produces 1-lbf for every 10-lbs of stored material.
